DreamCatcher Hotels Founder, Greg Hnedak
A charismatic entrepreneur, Greg Hnedak has been a driving force for nearly four decades in the architecture and hospitality industries.
In 1979, his visionary leadership established the nationally acclaimed hospitality architecture and design firm, Hnedak Bobo Group, in Memphis, Tennessee.
In 2011, Hnedak initiated a career change from architecture to the creation of a new hotel brand and development company, DreamCatcher Hotels. Launched at the height of the global recession, Hnedak leveraged his expertise and experience as a hospitality industry insider to create a new hotel delivery model that is changing the way hotels are built in today's ultra-competitive economy.
Hnedak is a well-known architect who had a large hand in the transformation of Downtown Memphis, Tennessee, into a residential and entertainment center. He has been key in the creation of celebrated hotels and casinos across the country, as well as luxury hotels and condominiums, from Washington D.C. to California, including the Westin Hotel in Memphis with its top floor famously scaled to accommodate the tall NBA players who play across the street at FedEx Forum.
Now, in the proud Memphis tradition of hospitality started by Holiday Inn’s Kemmons Wilson some 60 years ago, Greg is pioneering a new way of elevating guest expectations in hospitality with DreamCatcher Hotels. Greg's business proposition allows clients to build economical hotels at a quality level synonymous with four-and five-star properties. The strategic model puts the focus on quality where the guest experiences it most and maximizes efficiencies in construction to keep costs down. His company, DreamCatcher Hotels recently worked with Elvis Presley Enterprises on the new AAA four-diamond rated Guest House at Graceland resort hotel that opened in October 2016.
A hotel developer and owner in his own right, Greg is a development partner in the Memphis Westin Beale Street Hotel, located in the heart of Memphis' famous Beale Street Entertainment District. He is also a proven real estate developer for commercial and multifamily residential properties within Memphis' downtown core. A trusted advisor to clients nationwide throughout his career, Greg has also provided strategic brand, design and development consulting to projects and clients that include Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Orlando, Florida; Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas; Harrah's Entertainment - US; and Seven Clans Hotel for the Coushatta Casino Resort in Louisiana.
